Ella's Summertime meme

Summertime and the Meming is Easy.....

Gosh I wish it was summertime here with nice balmy days.  It must be on the way though as our bulbs are starting to bloom.  I can only dream at the moment, as its so cold and we have had so much rain.

1.  Name a tender song that can almost make you cry.

I honestly can't think of a song that would make me cry.  Although I'm a sooky la la so I cry at the drop of a hat.

2.  What is your favorite shade of lipstick?  What about nail polish?  If you do not wear lipstick or polish, what do you like or dislike about the shades you see others wear?

Well my favourite colours are pink and green.  Don't think green lipstick would look very good.  So a subtle shade of pink for me. I don't wear nail polish as it never stays on long enough.

3.  Name a children's nursery rhyme or song that you loved and to which you remember all the words.

The was an old woman who swallowed a fly.  I remember singing this song in primary school in a round robin.  Used to be so funny.

4.  What outfit would you put on in the morning if you wanted to feel happy and well dressed?  Something in which you think you look pretty damn good!

At the moment being winter here its so hard to keep warm and look pretty.  So we tend to dress in layers.  My favourite thing is a nice warm jumper, pair of slim line pants and these boots.

5.  If you had enough money to buy just one, would it be a cottage by the ocean or a cabin in the mountains?

I've always wanted to live in the country.  Bear likes to live close to the coast, so we compromised when moving.  We are in a coastal rural area. So I'd say a country cabin.

6.  If you are old enough, which one of the Beatles did you have a "thing" for?  If you are not that old, tell us a musician that really did it for you.

I always had a soft spot for Ringo Starr.

7.  Name a smell that you love - could be kitchen, outdoors, person, your choice.

I really, really love the smell of gum leaves either after the rain or thrown into a fire. Very Australian.

8.  How often do you defuzz your legs.  Wax, razor, or electric?

In summer once a week with a razor.  In winter I let it grow as I don't really have very much hair.

9.  How/why did you choose your blog name?

Down under being for Australia

Dreaming  for a better life, which is what's happened to us.

10.  What do you like to eat for breakfast?  To drink?  Coffee or tea?

At the moment being winter I love to eat rice porridge with blueberries and yoghurt.  During summer I just eat the yoghurt and berries.

I always start the day with a cup of tea.

11.  How many siblings do you have?  Or are you an only child?  Are you the oldest, a middle, or the youngest child?

Its complicated as   I technically have four siblings.  My brother died last year, so that left  3 sisters.  My eldest sister and I are the only ones who are talking to each other. Weird family! I'm the baby  of the family.

12.  What is your favorite salad dressing?

Italian salad dressing is my favourite.

13.  If you could sit next to anyone (alive) on a long plane trip, who would you pick?

As I am petrified of flying it would have to be my Bear to keep me calm.  LOL!  Big wuss!

14.  Have you ever gone shopping just to cheer yourself up?

Not really as I don't like shopping very much either for fun items or essentials.

15.  If there is one thing that can make you lose your temper, what would it be?

This is a hard one as I'm usually placid.  Maybe if someone did something to hurt a family member I would get my claws out.

16.  Tell us about the best photograph you have ever had taken.

One thing that came out of my fall is that Bear gave me his good camera.  I think so far the best photo I've taken is a recent one of him.  It also was chosen in the top list of my photo group. Sorry can't show you the photo here,  those who know me on fb have seen it.

.

17.  Have you ever gone skinny-dipping and where?

No never, but I would love to if the area was secluded.  This would be Bear and I.

18.  What do you like on your pizza?  What don't you like on your pizza?

I make my own pizza with a cauliflower base.  So I add tomato paste, feta cheese, capsicum, eggplant,  baby spinach and chorizo sausage. Delish!

Thanks Ella that was a fun meme to do.  Enjoy your week everyone.

accident update

Just an update on my recovery from the BIG slide down the embankment.  Well its already two weeks ago, boy time flies.  Even when I'm sitting here throwing the biggest pity party imaginable.
Last week Bear decided after giving me my nightly massage with horse liniment he'd put his foot down.  Therefore telling me its time to go see the doctor.  I hate going to doctors especially here as they chop and change all the time.  I never seem to find one I feel confident  with.

So the next morning Wednesday,  Bear made me ring up, I was surprised I was able to get an appointment that morning.  He came with me either to supervise or chaperone, I don't know.  Maybe to make sure I told the doctor everything. The doctor poked and prodded whilst I ouched a lot.  What a sooky la la I have turned out to be.  He concluded he thought I had cracked ribs, so ordered xrays straight away.  Luckily the hospital is opposite the clinic, so we walked over to see about the xray, to be told we had to come back in the afternoon.  This was alright, we went home for lunch, then returned where the radiologist poked and prodded also.  By the time they finished I was so sore and warn out I just wanted to head home to bed.  I asked when my doctor would have the results and was told Friday.

On Thursday we drove to meet Bears sister and bil for lunch.  On the way I received a phone call from the doctors surgery to tell me they had found something in the xrays, nothing urgent.  The down side of this was the doctor was away until Monday.  So we spent all weekend worrying about what they had found. Went to the doctor first thing this morning to be told no cracked ribs. YAY!  Always knew I was a hard nut to crack!  The xray showed spinal arthritis which I knew about anyway, so no biggy.  Just need plenty of TLC until I recover.

Bear is raring to go with such an itchy hand, I have already been on the receiving end of several hard swats.  Don't think it will be too much longer before this is happening.  MMMM!

One good thing that has come out of this incident, Bear has given me his good camera.  He told me from now on I have to use the telephoto lens and not walk in dangerous places. So now I'm hoping to take much better photos.

Have a good week everyone.

3s

Do any of you say things happen in 3s.  I do and ever single time it gets me in hot water with my Bear.  He says its only because people count them in threes yet there would be more incidents.

So last night whilst tucked up snuggly in bed, it dawned on me that last Monday when I took my big slippery slide something happened in 3s.  As I mentioned previously we stopped half way on the way back from shopping to boil the billy (make a cup of tea).  I had my mishap with my fall, so that is the first incident.  Second Bear couldn't get the stove to stay alight so we never had our cuppa.  Something was wrong with the gas getting through to the jet. Which was annoying as if we hadn't of stopped I wouldn't have slipt down the embankment.  Then we decided to pack up with me sitting on a towel so the car didn't get muddy.  Bear stopped to go to the loo and his wallet fell in the urinal.  EEEWWW! There you have it..... it happens in 3s.  LOL!  I haven't dare mention this to my Bear though.

Its now Friday my back is still sore and swollen.  One good thing I'm receiving a nightly massage as Bear went to the chemist for some liniment and strong pain killers.  Along with this nightly massage is a lecture though which I don't fancy.  I would much prefer if he would spank me then we could move on. I've been put on a short leash whilst out from now on, staying close to Bear at all times. Not wander off by myself to take photos and definitely  not  allowed  near any cliff faces or embankments anymore.  This makes it a bit hard during whale season here as everyone stands on the top of the cliff to take photos.

Back to the liniment it is apparently used on horses as well.  So I figured if it works well I might be able to enter as a filly in the Melbourne Cup in November to win the race. Anyone got a carrot for a hungry horse?  Neigh! You got to dream.

Have a good weekend everyone.

very sore backside

I'm currently sitting here on a very sore backside.  Ok, you can stop thinking I've been a very naughty girl and been spanked.  Wish I had as it would feel better than this.

Bear and I went on a very nice shopping trip today.  As its so far from home we decided to stop half way enjoy some  refreshments.  Whilst Bear was boiling the kettle I said I'd go for a wonder to take photos. Huge mistake!

At first the ground was alright, then it got a bit slushy as we've had so much rain lately.  Then I had to take a detour around a rather large puddle but didn't think to turn back.  When taking my photos I am very determined.  I stood on an embankment taking photos of the river, next thing I know I was flat on my back down the bottom.  Lucky for me I stopped in time before going into the river.

My glasses flew off my head in one direction, my mobile flew in the other direction. I sat there for ages contemplating what to do about my predicament.  Once I found both items, I checked my phone to find there was no reception what so ever, which meant I couldn't call Bear for help.  So I only had one choice to pick myself up, find my way back  in a safer way. It felt like it took forever walking back as my whole spine felt jolted.

On arriving back at the picnic table I turned around showing Bear my back which was totally covered in mud.  I was expecting some sympathy yet all I received was a comment.....

'That'll teach you for playing in mud.'

I explained what happened saying how sore I felt.

To which he replied 'Also  a hurt pride.'

I think by tomorrow I'm going to be black and blue.  Won't be so stupid as to wander off by myself again in that sort of area.  Lesson learnt the hard way!

2nd Blogiversary

Today the 16th July   Down under Dreaming is 2 years old. Well that time has gone by in a blink of an eye.  Its been wonderful getting to know each and everyone one of you and learning so much from reading all of your posts.  At times I think no one will want to hear about the life of Bear and Lindy.  For some strange reason there is this  pull though to type events when they happen. I raise my glass to you all.  Cheers!

Recently I've been able to face time several  bloggers, so am able to learn a bit more about their lives, which is absolutely fabulous.  I said to one of them it makes me feel like one of the cool group. LOL!

Thank you all for sticking by me over the past 2 years, for all your lovely responses to my posts and advice when I needed it most.  Thank you PK for talking me into blogging, its been a wonderful time. I know  few have come and gone during this period, which is really sad.  Hopefully there are many more years left for Down under Dreaming  and TTWD in the land.

PK asks?

I'm sure everyone knows the famous words of Forrest Gump.

“My mamma  always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”

Well that about sums up TTWD for me and maybe for a lot of us in the land. I've read quite often that some of our men are not consistent and its been a while since our last spanking.

PK wrote a blog titled  Still thinking about the spanking lifestyle and asked the following questions

Will your man talk about TTWD with you? Are you so established in what you do that you don’t need to discuss it any longer? Would you like to talk about it with him? Do you talk face to face or email? If you don’t really talk about it is there anything you would like to tell your guy about TTWD that you think he should understand better.

I must admit the post you wrote PK could be my life.  Bear is such a gentle man he is afraid of hurting me to a certain degree. Although he has also said he is afraid of liking it too much by really spanking hard. He doesn't want to be the 'boss' of me on a full time basis either. Yet I've taken a step back since we moved leaving most of the final decisions to him. Not that we don't discuss purchases at times, just that Bear decides which items we need.

So in answer to your questions

Will your man talk about TTWD with you?

Bear will talk about TTWD a tiny  bit.  He was surprised  when I talked to some friends recently via face time that others DO practice TTWD.  Although we have talked about it previously, he obviously thought it was our little secret. He had heaps of questions for me once I was off the phone.  This also spurred him on for a short time, pity it didn't last.

Are you so established in what you do that you don’t need to discuss it any longer?

We seem to run either HOT or COLD with TTWD.  So no we are not established enough. Some days Bear wears his HOH hat so well I have to watch my Ps and Qs.  On these days every opportunity he gets, he gives me hard swats or a full on spanking.
Other days he isn't interested at all, leaving me feeling confused.  We seem to have set backs when either of us is sick also.  Which makes it hard to get back in the swing of things.

Would you like to talk about it with him?

Definitely if he will sit down for a lengthy discussion. Its hard to pin point a good time.

Do you talk face to face or email?

We talk face to face.  When we were first married I used to write him letters. Bear thinks the written word can be taken the wrong way and can hurt more than a proper conversation.  So I try to talk to him.  Some times its successful, other times he seems to change the subject very fast, which is frustrating.

If you don’t really talk about it is there anything you would like to tell your guy about TTWD that you think he should understand better.

I would really love to tell him that consistency would help a great deal.  I need to know where my boundaries are  daily, instead of chopping and changing. Also with regular spankings I seem to have a higher pain threshold, yet with the odd one here and there its too hard to take.  I wimp out.

In the end I know Bear loves me with all his heart and would never do anything to upset me.  Yet I still feel like I'm crazy wanting to be spanked, yet I can't change the way I am.  I throw my hands up in the air saying I'll just read more of my 'dirty books' as D1 calls them and leave my fantasies in my head. It seems to nag at me though until I blurt out to Bear spank me.

Happy 4th July to all my friends in the USA.  Hope you're all having a wonderful celebration.

Polishing my halo

Thursday Bear had to go for a 12 month check up at his eye specialist.  Can't believe its already that long since his first operation.  Anyway as you all know by now I belong to a few photo groups on face book.

Well a girls got to do what a girls got to do.  When an opportunity arises I snap away no matter where I am.  Bear was not very impressed with me taking photos in and around the doctors surgery.  Then we went to our favourite pub for lunch.  Yes started taking more photos.  Well you never know when a suitable prompt is going to come up for me to use them.

Bear only has two meals a day, so when we are out he has an entrée of soup, before his main.  He dropped a few toast crumbs on the table.  Naughty Lindy forgot her manners and started flicking them off the table.  Oops!  By now Bear was fuming with both all the photos and my behaviour.
He said to me that he was  surprised I didn't take a selfie whilst  doing that.  I cheekily replied I'm surprised you didn't take a photo of me.

I was the designated driver home as Bear had laser surgery, so he didn't say very much.  When we arrived home though, he took me into the bedroom, pulled down my jeans and knickers and polished my halo.

I soon learnt my lesson and was a good little angel again with a lovely red backside, apologising for my antics.  Next time I'll be more careful.

Have a good weekend everyone.  Sure is cold down here now, going to be 12c/53f here tomorrow.  So if you like I can send some your way, if you send some warmer weather please.

Hugs Lindy xx
